Ivo Hugh

Ivo Hugh is a boisterous and outgoing young engine whose energetic attitude sometimes clashes with the older, more reserved sensibility of the engines on the Skarloey Railway. As the newest addition to the railway (and the most confrontational), when he was first built he ended up in a skirmish with the oldest engine there, Duke, and his "rules", and accidentally caused a forest fire in the process of trying to prove himself. In the aftermath, however, he came to realize that not everyone was out to hurt him, while the other engines came to realize that maybe he *was* just the breath of fresh air the railway needed.

James

Despite a few hiccups throughout his past, James the really splendid engine is back on top. I mean, it's not as if his shiny red paint and "glamorous" mixed traffic life weren't always something to envy, but now thanks to a chance meeting with a diesel who changed his life, he doesn't feel as secretly insecure about them as he used to. No, James is a reformed engine now, and certainly doesn't anticipate any further hiccups in his future. He strives to help make Sodor a welcome escape for new additions the way it was for him all those years ago, even if his "escapism" may not be all sunshine and rainbows.
